Dark Mode for Eye Health

if you are hurting your eye when you look at monitor for a long time, here are the remedies

  • First of all take breaks at every 20 mins and relax your eye and stretch a bit (easier said than done). Also make sure your sitting position, monitor position are proper,

  • Second, you change your monitor brightness to match with your background light. If making your brightness bar to minimum is not enough (in my case it was not), use this command (ubuntu)to adjust further: xrandr — output DP-2 — brightness .22
  • Third: use Dark mode in Browser. Eg for Chrome,

  • Fourth: use Dark Ubuntu mode,

Initially you feel lil difficulty in using dark mode as you are so used to bright mode, but soon you will love it or atleast your eye will love it and force u to use it. If something is not readable in dark mode, simply switch to brighmode using extension shortcut in right top of your browser.
